Back in 1884, Texas’s first mechanised brewery, Lone Star Brewing Company, opened its doors in San Antonio, Texas. Alamo Beer’s roots can be traced back there with a refreshing lager made of premium barley malt, Saaz hops, and Texas rice.
Alamo Beer was made for the working man and was well-loved by locals. In 1918, Prohibition dried up the supply of Alamo Beer along with other beers across the nation. The Alamo Beer brand was lost and the trade name dormant.

Years later in 1995, the trademark was recovered and the first batch of the new Alamo Beer brewed.
And in 2003, Alamo Beer Company opened its doors with a simple belief: great beer is best enjoyed in good company with its first of many brews: Alamo Golden Ale.
The rest, they say, is history.
